Shipping Dangerous Goods
有害物质 and Dangerous Goods are materials that require special handling to ship because they pose an unreasonable risk to health, safety and property during transport. They come in many forms, including but not limited to:
- 危险化学品
- Radioactive materials
- Infectious substances
- 压缩气体
- Biological samples on dry ice
- 锂电池
- 气溶胶罐
Specific training is required by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for shipping and, 在某些情况下, receiving these products. Personnel in EHS and 奥拉 have completed this training and are able to ship the products correctly. 请联系 奥拉 to ship biological samples, infectious substances, or dry ice and EHS for all other hazardous materials. - 航运服务 — EHS and 奥拉 can pack, label, complete the paperwork and schedule pick up of the dangerous goods by an appropriate shipper.
- 需求 — To ship non-biological dangerous goods, contact EHS at least 10 business in advance. More time is preferred and remember to allow time for travel of the shipment. EHS will provide a worksheet to gather the necessary information for shipping the specific material(s). Complete it and email it back to EHS. An index number is required to cover the cost of shipping and supplies.
- 培训 — 培训 can be provided to designated personnel involved with shipping or receiving specific Dangerous Goods. 奥拉 provides online training when shipping biological materials on/off dry ice and EHS can provide basic awareness training for individuals receiving packages of hazardous materials or dangerous goods.
